“A concert is not a live rendition of our album. It’s a theatrical event.” – Freddie Mercury

It’s quite a shame when someone gets you excited for something, only to find that it isn’t available to experience or have after all. This happened to me today…with Stevie Wonder tickets.
Yes, Stevie Wonder. The show wasn’t even on my radar, but my husband had seen that he’d be performing the entire “Songs in the Key of Life” album. Awesome! Stevie Wonder is one of those musicians with a timeless talent, but whose work during that period is particularly impressive.
Husband logs on to get the tickets, but is directed to set up a profile. When he clicks the “Purchase Tickets” button, the screen goes blank and the session times out. No such luck.
There is something wonderful about big stadium shows. I jive off of other’s people energies, so being one of 20,000 fans is a rare treat. The last time I went to our local stadium for a show was for The Police reunion tour. It was well worth the ridiculous ticket price to have that once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Sigh. Maybe next time.
